Kate manages VCS’s overarching communications strategy, weaving together individual program narratives and ensuring effective ongoing communications with VCS stakeholders. She also works with each program and initiative individually to respond to their unique needs. Kate produces outreach and marketing materials for the organization and is VCS’s point person for media inquiries.
Prior to joining VCS, Kate worked as the Digital Marketing and Editorial Manager at Decent Workshop, a D.C.-based digital marketing and communication firm specializing in early-stage ventures. She also assisted the Indicators Team at the University of Maryland in stakeholder engagement and research around climate change adaptation needs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to her work in D.C., Kate specialized in environmental education, weaving compelling ecological narratives for diverse audiences.
Kate holds a Master’s of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she focused on climate change communication and international conservation and development. She received her Bachelor’s in Biology from Wesleyan University.
