VCS Names William Ferretti COO/CFO
(Barcelona, Spain) – Today, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) announced the promotion of William Ferretti to the dual-role of Chief Operating and Financial Officer. Mr. Ferretti had previously served as Director of Market Development and Senior Policy Advisor for the organization. He brings more than two decades of nonprofit as well as private sector executive experience to the position. A search to fill his previous position is already underway.
“Despite the challenging times facing the global carbon market, we are fortunate to see continued growth for the VCS, and I am delighted that Will has stepped up to ensure VCS has the operational and financial structures that will enable the organization to continue to grow,” said VCS Chief Executive Officer David Antonioli. “Will’s experience as both an NGO executive and a market leader will be invaluable moving forward.”
Mr. Ferretti brings more than 20 years of operational and financial management experience, having served as the executive director for the National Recycling Coalition, SeaWeb and Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE). In addition, he served as Vice President for the Chicago Climate Exchange where he represented the Exchange on Capitol Hill. He also holds a PhD in Resource Economics from the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University. Mr. Ferretti will be based in the VCS Washington, D.C. headquarters.
